Informational Kiosks were installed in several community locations: Moncton Farmer’s Market, Tri-City Maritime Chamber Business Expo 2016, the City of Moncton, Skills Canada and Sobeys Supermarket.
Educational and promotional materials were distributed to people who stopped at the kiosk and a brief talk about the link between mental health and heart disease among men was presented. People also played a small guessing game with information about mental health and heart disease and won prizes.
A lunch and learn was organized at the Atlantic Lottery of Canada (ALC) on Wednesday, the 8th of June 2016 at their premises in Moncton. There were twenty six ALC employees attending.
A game challenge was organized with the participants at the end of which three won gift cards from Sobeys and Canadian Tires in Moncton. Dr. Jalila Jbilou then presented about statistics related to heart disease and mental health in Canada and in New Brunswick in specific, the link between mental health and heart disease, specifics of men when it comes to mental health and some strategies to manage these two illnesses.
Two public talks were organized on the 4th and the 7th of July at the Cœur en santé/Cardiac Wellness Program of Vitalité Health Network in Moncton one in English and the other in French.
In total, 34 men and women attended the talk. Dr. Jalila Jbilou presented statistics about mental health on heart disease and mental health, the link between the two illnesses and strategies to manage them.
