On Saturday the 1st of October MindtheHeart/CœurAl’Esprit project team participated in the race that was organized by Cœur en santé/Cardiac Wellness Program of Vitalité Health Network in Moncton.
On Tuesday, October 11th 2016, a training session was organized for the employees of the community mental health services of Vitalité Health Network in Moncton. Fourteen mental health nurses and social workers were present at the training. Dr. Jalila Jbilou discussed the utilization level of mental health services among men, strategies to adapt mental health services to men’s needs and the stepped care model.
On Saturday, October 15 an Informational Kiosk was installed at the Moncton Golf and Country Club to raise awareness of golfers on the link between mental health and heart disease. Educational materials and a MindTheHeart golf ball were distributed to 68 people who stopped at the kiosk.
On Saturday, the 22nd of October, 2016 two training sessions were presented at the Canadian Cardiac Congress in Montréal: The Heart of the Matter one in English and one in French. There were around 30 participants who attended both trainings all of which were health professionals. Dr. Jalila Jbilou presented statistics about mental health and heart disease and the specific strategies to adapt mental health services to men’s health.
